Autumn is around the corner so here are some wellbeing rituals that the Aesthetikonzept team is implementing, to welcome Autumn and stay well throughout Winter and the cold and flu season...
1. Boost Energy & Immunity With Antioxidant-Rich Matcha
Guess what: Matcha green tea is proven to have the highest levels of antioxidants of any "superfoods". According to The ORAC test, which measures the antioxidant levels in foods, matcha green tea measures 1384 units per gram. For context, that’s:
13x the antioxidants of pomegranates,
15x the antioxidants of blueberries, and
125x that of spinach
Furthermore, Matcha includes an antioxidant called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), considered 100 times more potent than vitamin C!
Apart from having many other proven health benefits, it provides a beautiful ritual to begin each day with mindfulness and gratitude.
KOSHO Byuti Organic Matcha Tea is 100% pure, organic matcha green tea grown on the Japanese island of Kyushu. With its high content of catechins, this energising yet calming tea supplies the body with sufficient antioxidants to effectively protect our cells against damage from free radicals. Just one cup/bowl a day (ideally consumed in the mornings after food) is enough to reap its health and wellbeing benefits.
2. Reduce Inflammation By Trying An Alkaline Diet
The Aesthetikonzept team try to live by the 80/20 alkaline rule. Meaning we aim to eat approximately 80% fruit and veg and other alkaline foods daily vs generally acidic food such as grains, dairy, seafood or meat.
You can learn more about the reflux- and inflammation-reducing, as well as other health benefits and get inspired by these simple and tasty alkaline recipes here.
3. Improve Sleep With A Bedtime Ritual
We love a good "winddown ritual", be it changing devices for books an hour before sleep-time, applying our Biotulin or KOSHO (evening) skincare ritual with mindful care, or treating our feet to a little foot massage. Writing down three things we are grateful for every day also make us feel good! We have noticed a huge improvement in our quality of sleep since introducing such calming rituals.
4. Improve Wellbeing By Massaging Your Feet
Do you suffer from pain in your feet or legs which is preventing you from exercising or moving pain free during daily tasks? Then it may be worth seeing a Podiatrist (foot doctor) to assess your gait, or a Foot Reflexologist for a more holistic approach. However, if you are fortunate to have pain free feet and just want to relax, treat yourself to a foot massage.
Try Spirularin Cracked Heel Cream with the unique naturally active antimicrobial protection of Spiralin microalgae extract to protect damaged skin, as well as 20% urea content to quickly smoothen calloused skin. The pleasant, gentle warming or cooling effect is an added pleasure.
5. Oil Your Joints With Gentle Exercise
We always find the hardest part is getting out the door. To combat this we follow this little “hack”: make it your rule to put your exercise shoes on every day. Once those shoes are already on, it will be all the easier to keep them on and keep on going on a gentle walk! If walking causes you pain, then once again we recommend seeing a Podiatrist or perhaps including a Green Lipped Mussel Extract supplement (we have had excellent results with this one).
